    Why did you join Valeo?
During my studies I was searching for an internship in order to be able to start my career while still in college. I learned about Valeo at a job fair, as one of the largest suppliers in the automotive industry, which offers great opportunities for development and learning.
I was studying logistics and there was an offer of an internship in this department. I went through recruitment and got the internship.

Is it important for you to work for a growing international Group?
Of course, thanks to the Valeo investing in people development it is developing as a Group. Describe your missions (related to your job): what are the main skills & behaviors for this job, what are your main daily activities
Currently I’m working as a Customer Logistics Manager. We are responsible for deliveries to our customers, to the right place and at the right time, while meeting all the requirements of logistics. Work in this section requires a very good organization of work, meticulous and soft skills such as communication and language skills.

The working day starts with daily meetings, where we report problems, then we define corrective actions to solve the problem as soon as possible, then each of the specialists, depending on what customer is engaged, has a number of daily tasks to perform, such as: transportation ordering, inventory checks, open orders or activities associated with indicators of supplier’s evaluation. Work in logistics is definitely not boring.

What makes your job challenging and why is this job important for Valeo?
Without the work of my team, delivery to our customers and sales is not possible. We are the last link in the supply chain, which is directly in contact with the customer. We are at the forefront. Every day brings new challenges, gives us great joy of work and the opportunity to improve our skills.

Could you talk about the achievement(s) you are the most proud of since you have joined Valeo?

If you are a person who wants to grow, learn and work in a leading company in the automotive group, with great atmosphere, do not hesitate and apply.

  • Waldemar Bogusz

    Business Group: THS Skawina

    Why did you join Valeo?
The answer to this question confirms the fact that sometimes coincidence determines our fate. My friend from college, who was then an intern in Valeo, passed my CV without my knowledge to the Human Resources department. Imagine my surprise when the phone rang, a pleasant female voice informed me that I am in the process of recruitment for the position of a trainee. I decided to take the chance and ... I still work here today! I do not regret it ;)

Is it important for you to work for a growing international Group?
Working for a growing international group is important to me, because despite highly raised expectations it gives me a great opportunity for personal and professional development. Many of my friends work in exotic countries (of course in Valeo plants), and are extremely satisfied. It would not be possible if Valeo was not growing and was not an international company.

Is it important for you to contribute to a better automotive world?
It’s definitely good to hear in the media, from friends, family, even from random people, that Valeo products are recognized and praised for their quality, reliability, improving driving comfort. I’m proud that I’m a member of this community.

Describe your missions (related to your job): what are the main skills & behaviors for this job, what are your main daily activities
My mission, as a VPS Manager, is constantly striving to create an ideal work environment in line with Lean principles (by eliminating waste, implementing improvements, continuous training). I think that there is still a lot to do, so every day I try to use my skills and experience gained over the last few years in the best way possible.

In my calendar, you can find the tasks that are repetitive and systematic (Plant Tour, On the Job Training, VPS Committee, Plant QRQC), but on the other hand, every day is really different and requires confronting new challenges, problems to solve, projects to implement, etc. This is why I appreciate this position!

What makes your job challenging and why is this job important for Valeo?
Not ‘what’ but ‘who’ - my manager, The Boss! The cooperation is really great, and it is because of the fact that Production System is in our blood. Production System is a set of tools, standards, methodologies that show us how we want to conduct our business and the automotive industry requires from us to be flexible and responsive in order to satisfy our customers, our employees and provide beneficial growth to our plants. And this is what I am responsible for. Therefore, I believe that this position is important in Valeo.

Could you talk about the achievement(s) you are the most proud of since you have joined Valeo?
While doing my job, implementing various improvements, methodologies, modifications, layout changes, I tried to do it in a way that does not harm the employees and makes their work easier, safer, more effective, ergonomic. The biggest achievement for me is that today, after 8 years of work, these people welcome me on their production lines, they are frank with me, show their respect and gratitude.

What would you say about Valeo to a possible candidate?
Do everything you can to join us. You won’t regret it!

  • Wojciech Orzeł

    Business Group: VIS

    Why did you join Valeo?
I joined Valeo at the end of year 2004. Despite the passage of time I still remember the day when I made my decision to work in this company. It was not an easy choice as my former employer provided me with accommodation and a company car. However I had to spend half my working time abroad, away from my family. For me work-life balance is very important and now I know that I made the right decision.

Is it important for you to work for a growing international Group?
Yes, definitely. It is nice to be part of a winning team.

Is it important for you to contribute to a better automotive world?

In our site 100% of work time is managing information. Operators are reading instructions and are reporting what was done. We have about 30% of people who are gathering and passing information. 4-5 hours per day I spend on communication, to make sure that what was committed is done.

What makes your job challenging and why is this job important for Valeo
The job is challenging because our product is very sophisticated although it seems to be simple. When our CAD engineer creates a system he needs to consider about 1 thousand design rules. A validation engineer needs to make about 100 tests to make sure the whole system is OK. A Product Leader needs to read 1 thousand pages of customer specifications and transform them to the product using his knowledge of mechanic, electrics, electronics and software. A prototype needs to use most of the known technologies: machining, casting, injection, gluing, welding, pressing, forging, assembling etc. Calculation includes hit, aerodynamic, stress and fatigue, magnetic flux flow, sealing, heat distribution etc., we use Monte Carlo analysis to make sure nothing bad will surprise us. This is work with a huge number of information, so people must be very smart and communicative, and they are.

Could you talk about the achievement(s) you are the most proud of since you have joined Valeo?
I am definitely happy to see how fast people in all R&D departments are pushing their limits. Many of the people I had in my teams are now managers or experts. Transfer of skills is very efficient thanks to good relationships and well-prepared knowledge management. I give my people audio books about leadership, train them in statistics and change management. At least once per month one of us organizes training for the others. In my team there are people very competent, that is why it is a powerful team.

  • Daniel Mikolajczyk

    Business Group: PTS Czechowice-Dziedzice

    Why did you join Valeo?

My first job related to my studies started in Valeo in 2012, just after obtaining my engineering degree. I became an R&D engineer. To tell you the truth, I was also considering several other internship offers but I’m sure I made the right decision.

Is it important for you to work for a growing international Group?

Sure,  that’s very important. Development of the organization I work for gives prospectsfor the future, this in turn provides a sense of security.

Is it important for you to contribute to a better automotive world?

That is one of the most important things in Valeo, which is always emphasized on each level of communication.  You can feel proud seeing cars made with Valeo products. Most of all, I feel I can rely on them as I took part in their production process, as I’m sure, being the part of production process, I can trust the their quality.

Describe your missions (related to your job):

Currently as a test engineer I’m in charge of engine starters tests and validation. In addition to the dozens of performed tests and research done in our laboratory, tests on prototypes cars, which I am responsible for, are particularly worth the attention.  For a car enthusiast is an excellent chance to stay up to date with the automotive industry.

What makes your job challenging and why is this job important for Valeo?

I’m convinced that each position is important in a production company. Every and everyperson is part of a puzzle leading to a high quality product. Without one, even the smalles element, the whole process will not work. My job is full of challenges as laboratory is not for the standard things, as there are no repeatable scenarios, no recurring schemes. Sure, in Valeo we work according to strict procedures and specifications, nevertheless, each product should be treated individually. You can’t predict results without carrying out a series of tests .  It is necessary to obtain a solid assessment. My job is important as it allows to conclude if a particular change in the product or a new design is feasible and can be presented to the client or not. Therefore, all new products and modifications go through my hands.

What are the main skills & behaviors for this job?

The first and most important quality is interdisciplinarity. As a mechanical engineer I also had to become a bit of an electrical engineer, designer, learn some finance and quality rules, etc. In my job you must be open to new experiences andknowledge. Often during a single day you have to deal with many things so multitasking is very important. Specialized knowledge that can only be acquired through years of experience is also required.

Could you talk about the achievement(s) you are the most proud of since you have joined Valeo?

The most important achievement for me is my development and participation in the evolution of the laboratory. Thanks to the job I do in Valeo, sometimes hard and challenging, it’s easy to confront the knowledge you got during the studies with real life engineering problems. I’m also proud of the interns I had the chance to teach and work with. Those who remain in Valeo become an important and invaluable part of the company. Those who choose another path, are doing very well in another organizations.

What would you say about Valeo to a possible candidate?

If you have the chance to join Valeo, do it with no hesitation! The experience you get here is priceless, so take advantage of this opportunity!
